So what do you need to start the process for your wedding?

  1. NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage) will need to be lodged with me. The NOIM needs to be lodged minimum one month prior to the wedding date and it can last 18 months from the date that its’s signed. For that you will need identity documents; Australian or overseas passports cover it all. They can be out of date but not CANCELLED.

If you do not have a passport you will need your original Birth Certificate or an official extract from a birth registry, plus photographic evidence Drivers Licence, proof of age card or an official identity card.

If you have been divorced or had a spouse pass away you will need an original death certificate or latest divorce certificate.

A person under 18 years of age must obtain an order from a judge or magistrate under section 12 of the Act.

If you require a shortening of time due to illness, work or travel you must visit your local court house and have it authorised by a judge.

Once you have filled out the NOIM, email it back to me and I will print it out, along with the Service Agreement and Permission to Publish, as well as other required paperwork and we can sign it all together when we meet for a cup of coffee to discuss your day!
